What exactly is the Selective Practice Test?
The Selective Practice Test
assesses a student's academic ability and critical thinking skills. Your
child's performance is graded out of 120. Your child must acquire the minimum
admission score needed to be accepted into your selected school.
For Year 7 admission,
the NSW Selective High School Placement Test consists of three multiple-choice
examinations (Reading, Thinking Skills, and Mathematical Reasoning) plus a
writing component.
What are the benefits
of placing my child in a Selective High School?
The advantage of
sending your child to a Selective Practice test is that it offers a one-of-a-kind
and interesting academic experience. This is done by putting students with
similar intellectual abilities in an academically stimulating setting.
- The Selective Test will be held
on May 4th, 2023.
- Candidates can start applying from
October 18th, 2022.
- The deadline for applications
is November 16th, 2022.
- We help increase the students'
confidence by introducing them to the exam format, time limits, and
question types.
- Our website is updated regularly
to prepare children for greater levels of reading, problem-solving, and
critical thinking.
- We are a cost-effective option
for parents and instructors wishing to provide students with the skills
and abilities they need to succeed.
Are the HeyGuru practice tests similar to the Selective Test?
To simulate the actual
test, HeyGuru's Selective Practice test use the same exam-style questions and test
structure as the examination conducting bodies (Cambridge Assessment and
Janison Education Group).
We update our
questions and add additional quality questions with a wide range of difficulty
levels to match the Selective test level.
Students should be
committed to enhancing their performance and continually strive to improve.
Using their prior knowledge and assessing their performance to determine what
needs improvement will help improve test scores. HeyGuru helps with exactly
that. Practice makes improvement.
- Proper subject knowledge to
enhance their skills.
- Practice exams that familiarise
you with what to expect in the tests, such as question types and test
structure.
- Less stress, more familiarity
with the structure, and more efficient time management.
- Paper mode: Practicing taking
the test exactly as they would in the test centre.
Taking practice exams under time limits equivalent to the real-world testing environment will best prepare the student for test-taking conditions and, as a result, reduce stress on exam day.
