The Selective School Test measures a student's academic and critical thinking abilities. The grade for your child's performance is out of 120. To be accepted into your preferred school, your child must achieve the minimum admission score.

The New South Wales Selective School Test for Year seven admission consists of three multiple-choice examinations (Reading, Thinking Skills, and Mathematical Reasoning) and a writing component.

Advantages of enrolling your child in a Selective high school:

The benefit of enrolling your child in Selective High Schools is that it provides a creative and innovative academic experience. This is accomplished by placing students with similar intellectual abilities in a stimulating educational environment.

This includes providing more complex knowledge to children to help them develop their skills and talents and using faster-paced learning methods to keep your child intellectually active.

Selective schools frequently have a higher percentage of Higher School Certificate Band 6 (top band) results and a higher ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank), which determines university admission.
